Grandpa Milton comes though again!

I was working on a table in the shop today and I thought "Gee, some face-frame clamps would come in really handy about now. Too bad I don't have any. Hey wait a sec."

There they were in the wood working locker, on the bottom shelf of the locker, under the picture frame clamps, behind all the other stuff in the locker, two face frame clamps!

They worked perfectly to hold the frame for the top on the legs so that I could level everything. It is awfully nice to use a tool with history to it. Even though these still had a label on them and looked as if they had not been used the fact of their having been passed down to me gives them history. I squirted them with anti-spatter to keeps the weld blobs off and then scorched a little of the shininess off.

We call that developing the patina. An honest patina of wear is the best kind.
